Leadership Communications
Luke Boggs
Luke Boggs provides strategic counsel and C-level leadership communications expertise and training to leading companies in multiple industries. He helps clients share their stories, polish their brands, increase engagement and position their executives as insightful and inspiring thought leaders. He develops speeches, presentations, video scripts, op-eds and other articles, marketing materials, branding campaigns, podcasts and scripting for live and virtual events. His current and past clients include more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies.
From April 2011 through June 2018, Luke was Director of Leadership, Internal and Ambassador Communications at The Coca-Cola Company. As chief speechwriter to longtime Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent and a leading storyteller for the world’s most recognized brand, he crafted strategic and compelling pieces of communication for Mr. Kent and other senior leaders.
Luke was part of every important communication moment during his Coke tenure, including the worldwide launch of the “Taste the Feeling” marketing campaign, the 100th anniversary of the iconic Coca-Cola bottle, eight annual shareowners meetings and multiple global system meetings of senior leaders from the company and its top bottling partners. He developed speeches given in more than 50 countries on five continents.
Internally, Luke communicated the company’s strategic priorities and increased employee engagement with coordinated campaigns involving town halls, videos, leadership emails, and dedicated sections and article series on the internal web portal, Coca-Cola Connect. He helped lead a strategic overhaul of Connect and a similar refresh of Coca-Cola Ambassador, a global program to engage and inspire 700,000+ system associates.
At Coke, he crafted external speeches for the Olympics, Special Olympics, World Economic Forum, Consumer Goods Forum, Clinton Global Initiative and Cambridge China Executive Leadership Program as well as audiences at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, Oxford, Tsinghua and the University of Virginia. He wrote the introductory chairman’s letter for seven Annual Reviews and ghosted articles published by The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time, Fortune, CNN.com and The Huffington Post.
Prior to joining Coke, Luke ran his own communications consultancy for five years, starting the business after nine years in leadership communications roles at Verizon Business (MCI).
Luke’s work regularly appears in Vital Speeches of the Day magazine, and he won seven national Cicero Speechwriting Awards in the program’s first seven years. He also won numerous awards for his work on Coca-Cola’s annual review. He holds a BA in history from the University of Georgia and an MA from Ohio University’s Contemporary History Institute.
